supermarkets - 30.10.26

I can’t think of one thing that isn’t political in this country.

This morning I was all worried about my heart and I raced to my doctor, who couldn’t figure out what to do either – but since my cardiologist sent me for a looper to record my online activities and a few other crazy tests, and I’m a graduate of many more cardiac tests I figured I’ve still got a while to go, so I went with Ezi to shop for a little party tomorrow.

But since I wasn’t really in great shape, I wasn’t concentrating on olives and sambusa, and instead started paying attention to the technics and politics of the place.  “Freedom to Choose” the sign says on the wall of the escalator from the parking place.  It’s a supermarket chain run originally by Russians – and the openness to foods and brands from all over the world – is monumental.  Most supermarkets are kosher, therefor more reliant on a specific source.

I shop in both kosher and non kosher supermarkets – and they are different worlds.  Today was non kosher.

more later when i can catch my breath…
