The numbers all along are staggering. six hundred thousand Gazans and two hundred thousand Israelis don’t know if they will ever have a home to go back to. And now people are asking me if I want to take a little trip for a while until things clear up here. The very thought of leaving home at a time of stress drives me mad, so you can imagine the feelings of the people who are leaving their secure places to avoid being killed.
Hello Karen,
I am so sorry it has taken me a week to write to you. I didn’t want to intrude because of all that is going on where you are. But now I realize that was wrong. I discovered your blog many years ago and I continue to check into your blog because it’s so well written, interesting and Tel Aviv Diary gave me the incentive to try my own hand at blogging and I will always be grateful.
I am hoping that you and your family are safe. I pray for the families of the Israelis that were killed, the wounded and that the hostages will be returned safe. I can’t imagine what their families are going through. Israel has every right to defend itself and the people of Israel and the people of Gaza deserve peace and a good life. Hamas is responsible for all of this tragedy.
They are no different than AL Qaida and Isis and they must be defeated if there is to be any chance for peace.
