With this rare miracle of the confluence of dates, we have this amazing opportunity to celebrate both holidays together. But I don’t feel much like celebrating. I want to say humbug to both holidays and maybe bring back Festivus. The more we can find in common the better our lives can be.
“Bah humbug”, is probably a very legitimate stance on the festivities of the day. However, I still feel the fault lies NOT in the religions of Judaism or Christianity. For me the fault(s) lie in the human heart…the constant struggle and/or captivity of the Old Yetzer Hara.
I want to agree with Rabbi Cohen (Jerusalem) that the final battle will not be Christianity VS Judaism…it will be Judaism and Christianity against Islam. There is a You-Tube lecture regarding that….
