Tel Aviv Diary -
August 9-13, 2012 - Karen Alkalay-Gut
August 10, 2012
Somehow I didn't save the entry yesterday.
I am esconced in the Hyatt in Vancouver - anticipating the first night of sleep in 10 nights. The taxi just dropped us off where we had a fascinating conversation with a driver from Sri Lanka about Israel. Some people seem to know an awful lot about the Jews. I cannot tell you much of Vancouver because this is a Tel Aviv diary, but it seems so very much more metropolitan than Boston. There is something so inclusive and sunny about the character of the people and the city. We are leaving this morning but promise to return. Vancouver seems to me the place to widen one's aesthetic and emotional perspective for a while.
In the mean time, you may enjoy this film of Jerusalem in 1925
